CHEROKEE REGIONAL & SENIOR LIFE SOLUTIONS TEAM UP FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, so Cherokee Regional Medical Center and Senior Life Solutions have teamed up for the 2nd Annual Suicide Prevention Awareness Walk to shed more light on this topic.

Event supporters are encouraged to join in a walk for Suicide Prevention Awareness between on Sunday, September 26th, anytime between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. beginning at the Cherokee Fitness Center.

Details and updates for the event are available on Cherokee Regional’s Facebook Page. Throughout the month of September, event organizers will post suicide and mental illness support resources and statistics, and encourage attendees to add their walk pictures and stories to help spread awareness of Suicide Prevention.

In addition to the Facebook Event, shirts are available for purchase now through September 16, 2021 by clicking here.

“We are ready to bring suicide and mental illness to the forefront of the Cherokee and surrounding communities,” said Tonya Draper, Senior Life Solutions Program Director. “We have a great group of advocates that have planned and prepared this event to promote suicide prevention, as well as resources for those struggling with mental illnesses. Our goal is to open this discussion to the community and support one another.”
