Most importantly, our team has the medical expertise for any situation, including delivery by C-section. Rely on us to make sure your birth experience goes safely and smoothly.

Comfortable, Modern Birthing Center

Cherokee Regional Medical Center has one of the most inviting birthing units in Northwest Iowa. Designed to make the birthing experience memorable and comfortable for mother, baby and family, our birthing center includes two large labor and delivery rooms and three spacious postpartum rooms.

Each postpartum room has:

  • Large private bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub
  • Cable TV
  • Comfortable chair and couch for family and visitors
  • Computer with internet access for sharing the news and baby’s first pictures

And when it is time for mom to rest, there is a sunny nursery for the newborn.

Prenatal Care

Free prenatal classes are offered several times a year. First-time parents are encouraged to attend, but any obstetrics patient is welcome. Topics include mother’s prenatal care, what to expect in labor and delivery, tour of the birthing unit, breastfeeding and caring for the baby.

Critical Care for Baby

Should your baby need critical care after delivery, neonatal intensive care services are provided through St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center in Sioux City. Plus, every member of our OB team and our paramedics are certified in newborn transport and neonatal resuscitation.

Postpartum Care

Our family-centered care includes special attention to the postpartum stage, including guidance on self care and parenting skills. In addition, 24-48 hours after discharge, a special Mommy & Me visit is made to the home to answer your questions or concerns.

Your Place. For Exceptional Care.

That’s the Cherokee Regional Medical Center difference.
