Over the years, the CRMC Quilters have contributed thousands of volunteer hours to CRMC to help raise funds for various projects over the years. Some of their donations have included the purchase of a new exercise bike for the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department, the CRMC Wellness Center construction project, the soft-serve ice cream machine in the cafeteria, as well as flat screen televisions in the patient rooms and Emergency Department.

Recently the talented group donated $15,000 to purchase five patient transport chairs to be used within various departments at Cherokee Regional Medical Center. A sixth chair was also donated by the CRMC Auxiliary.

“We cannot thank our CRMC Quilters and Auxiliary members enough for their generous donations of time and fundraising efforts,” says Kent Lundquist, Vice President of Development and Support Services at CRMC. “Their dedication to support or our mission while providing some extra comforts to our patients and visitors is greatly appreciated.

A few of the CRMC Quilters pictured with one of the new transport chairs include (left to right) Annamarie Lickiss, Juanita Hempel, and Virginia Whittenburg. The group is always looking for new quilters to join their efforts. For more information on becoming a CRMC quilting volunteer, please contact Annamarie Lickiss at 712.225.5259.
