CRMC Appoints New Vice President of Clinical Services
Cherokee Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Melissa Cunningham, RN, BSN, as the new Vice President of Clinical Services/CNO at Cherokee Regional Medical Center effective July 15, 2019.
Cunningham has 12 years of healthcare management and leadership experience with her most recent position being Director of Abben Cancer Center, located on the campus of the Spencer Municipal Hospital, for the past nine years. Melissa also has management experience in fields of Home Health, Hospice and Public Health.
Cunningham is a member of the Iowa Organization of Nurse Leaders (IONL) and the American Organization of Nurse Executives. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from South Dakota State University, Brookings, South Dakota, and a Bachelor of Science in Philosophy from Minnesota State University- Moorhead, Moorhead, Minnesota. Prior to earning her RN/BSN, Cunningham worked as social worker in Luverne, Minnesota for four years.
She has been involved in her community having served on the Spencer Chamber of Commerce Board, and has actively participated in various community fundraising efforts to benefit the healthcare organizations she has served. Cunningham and her husband, Don, have three children.
