Cherokee Hospital
Cherokee Regional Medical Center, Professional Care...Made Personal!

The Cherokee Regional Medical Center Auxiliary is a concerned group of volunteers who enjoy contributing many extras to make the local hospital special.

They have a long time tradition of providing heart-warming gifts for patient services. Each newborn baby is presented with a hand-made cap before leaving the hospital. Other special projects include providing cable T.V. in each of the patient rooms and a comprehensive newborn care book for all new mothers delivering at CRMC. In addition, the Auxiliary currently provides two $400 scholarships each spring to local area graduating seniors interested in pursuing a career in a health care related field.

To fund these efforts, the CRMC Auxiliary conducts a variety of major fundraising events including- the May Coffee & Bake Sale, the Iowa/Iowa State Cookie Challenge, the December Sweet Affair, and the $5.00 Masquerade Jewelry Fairs.

The famous CRMC Quilters meet in room 233 at the hospital every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 9:00 to 11:00. This team of quilters provides hand-quilting services to the public. Over the past several years, the Quilters have donated money towards new equipment including a recumbent bike for the Physical Medicine Department and flat screen T.V.s for the patient rooms. Area quilters are always welcome and can contact Lee Gary at 225-5320 for additional information.

New members are always welcome to the CRMC Auxiliary. Anyone interested in joining this worthwhile organization and supporting CRMC may contact Melanie Rice at 712.225.4347 for more information.
