The emergency services area is under the direction of a physician member of the Medical Staff.  Registered nurses with relevant training and experience provide the nursing services provided in the emergency department.  At Cherokee Regional Medical Center, there is a registered nurse in-house, on call to the Emergency Room 24-hours per day 7-days per week.  Other nursing personnel assist this nurse as necessary and members of other staff disciplines are available in-house or on call when needed.  .  Available services include physician consultation, lab evaluations, x-ray examinations and  surgery.
